My dear Madame, I shall be most happy to avail myself of the honor to “break bread” with you & yours this P M, agreeably to your chivalric & polite invitation

Your Chevalier Gordon Granger —-

Second letter is also undated: 

Transcription: 

My dear Mrs. Dixon, I hope upon a second sober reflection you will conclude to attend the Cavalry party for a little while this evening. Their arrangements are superb and I’m sure you will enjoy it I asked Colonel Owen he begged and implored us to bring you he said you must come if possible please oblige us for this once and last occasion.
